For real values of X in the interval (0, Inf), log10 returns real values in the interval (-Inf,Inf). For complex and negative real values of X, the log10 function returns complex values.

This MATLAB function plots x- and y-coordinates using a base-10 logarithmic scale on the x-axis and a linear scale on the y-axis. Modifying them depends on the axis scale. If they are linearly-scaled, use the Exponent property in Tick Values and Labels in the NumericRuler Properties documentation. However, that does not appear to work on log-scaled axes, so you would likely need to create your own y-tick labels.
